The National Association of College and University Mail Services (NACUMS) is an association founded in 1995 by mail service managers for the purpose of supporting, promoting, and educating mail professionals working in an academic setting.

In pursuit of its purpose, NACUMS first set out to establish working relationships with the U.S. Postal Service as well as professional organizations in higher education, including regional mail service associations. Through this initial effort, NACUMS has been recognized by the National Association of College and University Business Officers - NACUBO, and was granted membership on the Council of Higher Education Management Associations - CHEMA. The U.S. Postal Service also granted NACUMS three seats on the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee - MTAC.

While gaining recognition as the professional organization representing the college and university mailing industry, NACUMS was actively developing programs and support networks that would further benefit its members.

By fulfilling its purpose and demonstrating its ability to adapt to the expanding development of the mailing industry, NACUMS has proven to be the national leader in representing and supporting the interests of mail service operations in higher education.
